The rates below are affective from the 1st of May 2024

At the Trustees meeting after the AGM on March 27th 2023, Trustees voted to increase the hire rates for most bookings by 20%. Rates for regular child / youth bookings remain as they were.

Whilst we are aware that this news will not be welcome, most users will have been expecting it (especially as we indicated last year that a rise was likely). The context is that for many years, at least a decade, we have kept our rates the same. Over this period our costs have risen substantially.

As Trustees we have an obligation not just to ensure that our income meets these costs but also to build funds for future development projects e.g. the kitchen / chair store. We believe our rates are still competitive when compared with other venues, and that the facilities offered are much improved on what they were ten years ago.

We hope that you will continue to take advantage of the wide range of activities now taking place at the village hall, and continue to book it for your own events too.

Storage Units

Eight units are available for hire by individuals or businesses who want to rent storage so as to free up space for themselves. The table shows the sizes and monthly hire rates for each unit. As with the hire rates for village hall rooms, these rates are reviewed by trustees after the village hall AGM (every March or April). You will notice there is a discounted rate for hirers who are resident in the Parish of Corfe Castle.

The VH Storage Coordinator is Judith Jenkins. She will be able to let you know which sized units are still available, and will also be able to arrange a visit to see the units.

Access to the storage units has to be arranged in advance through Judith, who will negotiate a mutually convenient time for the visit. It is important for hirers to recognise that Judith is a volunteer with other responsibilities. Access will usually be possible within 24 hours. Judith (or another authorised VH trustee) will admit and accompany the hirer. Except in exceptional circumstances, access is limited to a maximum of two visits per month.

Refundable Deposits

A separate £60 deposit cheque is required for all bookings. This will be destroyed if the hall is left clean, tidy and undamaged
There is also a Clavinova Electric Piano which is owned and maintained by the drama group but is available for use by any Village Hall user free of charge by prior arrangement. To ensure that this musical instrument is treated with respect a refundable deposit of £50 will be required and full 'hands-on' instructions will be given when you first use it.
